OUR STORY

The Dallas Harari Community Center originated from a group of people who recognized the need to have a place to keep our culture, history, and religion alive for our Harari diaspora. We began with just an idea and a small apartment, as Ustad Ibrahim hosted Sunday school for neighborhood kids to teach them of our deen and Harari roots. As kids pilled into his living room and word spread of Sunday school, we happily outgrew his living room and decided to move onto a bigger space. Many years later, we established the Harari Community Center you know today where many milestones have been celebrated such as Kuba, Qalem Masber, Eid, Afrahs, and Ramadan Iftars!

Unfortunately, like many others, this year has taken us by surprise. We are in urgent need of financial support to save the Dallas Harari Community center we established over twenty years ago. Please find it in your hearts to donate or spread the word!

You can donate directly to our GoFundMe or our Zelle registered under contact@hararicommunitydallas.org! Zelle donations are preferred due to no transaction fees!

We are so grateful for all of the donations we have received this far and will be transparent about our journey and where the funds will go. Continue to check this page for updates on our fundraising and what your donations will help us with!

What Will My Donation Help with

Many of our community members were generous enough to personally lend us funds to build our new community center. Your donations will go to paying of these lender debts, our outstanding mortgage, and utility bills. Our overall goal is $100K!

Spread the Word

The best thing you can do is share our website and our gofundme page (linked above)! We are hopeful that we can come together as a community and save the center!
